MAFS first year doug jamie
"Married at First Sight: The First Year" Season 2 will show what Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis have been up to since getting married the first time they met. FYI

The original “Married at First Sight” couples are coming back to FYI. After the very unhappy ending of “MAFS” Season 2, fans could definitely use a little reminder that some strangers can totally fall in love. Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner as well as Cortney Hendrix and Jason Carrion will have their lives on TV once again for “Married at First Sight: The First Year” Season 2. But before tuning in to the Tuesday, Oct. 13, premiere, let’s remember where they left off.

Jamie and Doug

This couple ended the season on a very happy note with their wedding special. However, before renewing their vows, they had their fair share of drama. Jamie really wants a baby, but Doug just isn’t ready to be a dad yet. Jamie knows that she can’t force Doug into the idea, so she has been focusing more on her career. The nurse has been working on her TV hosting skills with Star Shop, a mobile shopping network.

Jamie also worked on her relationship with her own parent. Throughout her time on TV, Jamie’s relationship with her mom has been strained, but they confronted each other during the wedding special. The reality star said she could forgive her mother, but she couldn’t forget all of her mistakes. Jamie’s mother even came to her vow renewal, but Season 2 will reveal if her parent is in her life for good.

What’s Next: Although the show has been on a hiatus since the spring, Jamie and Doug have been keeping fans updated on social media. Jamie revealed that she legally changed her last name to Hehner. She also had a health scare when a fan on social media informed her that a flare from her eye in pictures could indicate some much bigger problems. Luckily, her doctors said she was fine. She and Doug have also been keeping fans up to date with their silly antics (like Doug dying Jamie’s hair and Jamie attempting to cook) on their webseries, “Married Life."

Cortney and Jason

These two didn’t have the same smooth first year that Jamie and Doug had. Although they ended up renewing their vows in Las Vegas, they had much more drama on the way to the chapel. Jason was training at the fire academy, and he wasn’t able to see his wife that much. The separation put a lot of stress on their relationship, and Cortney losing her job only added to the tension. The two had a blowout fight where Cortney said that she felt like Jason wasn’t opening up to her, and Jason exploded. “I can’t even deal with stuff from the past because I’m so worried about dealing with s--- from the future,” Jason said.

Once Jason finally got a few days off from work, he planned a trip to Vegas with all of their friends. He wanted them to have the bachelor and bachelorette parties that they couldn’t have before they got married. Then, Jason surprised Cortney with the offer to renew their vows. She initially didn’t want to have another wedding when their relationship had been so unstable lately. Cortney changed her mind and decided that maybe it was a good idea to renew their vows. They had a fun ceremony where Elvis married them. Though they felt stronger after the trip, that didn't take care of all their issues.

The new wife also revealed that she wanted to go home to North Carolina for a while. She wanted to start putting her own needs first and focus on herself for a while. Jason wanted to try and make her find things to love about New York.

What’s Next: Jason became the cover model for the 2016 New York Firefighters calendar. Meanwhile, Cortney, along with the other “Married at First Sight” Season 1 wives, auctioned off her wedding dress for charity. Yet the couple has been keeping their personal lives rather private. Their episodes of “Married Life” have shown Jason’s hosting endeavors and road trips, but judging from the “Married at First Sight: The First Year” Season 2 trailer, they have plenty of drama coming up.
