Maruti Suzuki has called for a press conference on Thursday at 4 p.m. to discuss the "Manesar issue," a company spokesman said.

It is speculated that the company will announce plans to restart the factory at Manesar, Haryana, that was shut down due to a violent clash between the management and the workers' union, which left the HR manager dead and hundreds injured.

The 550,000 vehicles-a-year factory in Manesar, Haryana, where the unit of Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp makes its best-selling Swift hatchback, has been idle since the July 18 clash between workers and management.
