Marvel Comics come to Android Marvel Comics

Marvel Comics announced its comic app has been released on the Android OS.

The app allows mobile device users access to Marvel's online comic store. The app is free but digital comics will cost users, though prices are similar to paper comics.

Also users can subscribe to Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited program that gives users access the Marvel achieve and new comics for $10 a month or $60 a year. The year subscription cuts the monthly price in half.

We couldn't be happier for our fans on Android devices to experience the Marvel Comics app, Peter Phillips said, Senior VP & General Manager for Marvel Digital Media Group. This is a big step in our plans to both bring Marvel Digital Comics to a larger audience than ever before and create new fans of our great medium, which can only help drive more fans into comic shops nationwide to read about the Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men and all of our great characters.

The app was developed by comiXology, a company that designed the mobile download app for DC comics and the Marvel app for iPhones. Though the Marvel's Android app comes two years after comiXology released the comic app for the iPhone.

Android fans can rejoice that Marvel's amazing comics are now on the Marvel Comics app and Comics by comiXology app for Android, David Steinberger said, CEO of comiXology. We're head over heels to help Marvel bring their fantastic stories to comic consumers everywhere. Now fans can buy where they want and read where they want, and comiXology's Guided View sings with Marvel's creative talent!

The DC comic app was released earlier this summer for the Android. Android users can get Comics, from comiXology, which has both DC and Marvel comics.
