The 76th Masters gets underway on Thursday and, today, players and patrons got got an early look at the course during a practice round on Monday.

No stranger to attention, Tiger Woods was the focus of the cameras as he looks to continue his return to form following his victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill last week.

Woods is looking for his first victory since his much publicized personal problems at the end of 2009.

It is not just the possible return of Woods to his best that whets the appetite in Augusta but also the anticipation that there could be a showdown between the 36-year-old and Rory Mcllroy.

The Northern Irishman has been hailed as the best of the new crop of young golfers and the 2012 Masters offers up the prospect of the type of cross-generational rivalry that is cherished in all sports.
