Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé’s father and former manager, is making shocking allegations about his daughter and her rumored marital issues. The 63-year-old claims the singer and rapper husband Jay Z made up their relationship troubles in order to boost ticket sales for their co-headlined “On the Run” tour, which ends in September in Paris.

In an interview on The Roula And Ryan radio show in Houston this week, Knowles said issues are sometimes hyped “to ignite that tour… It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of times... I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on.”

Since May, there have been allegations that Beyoncé and Jay Z were headed for divorce, after Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles got into a heated argument with Jay Z in an elevator as Beyoncé watched, with some speculating that Solange was angry about the rapper cheating on her older sister. While any cheating has yet to be confirmed, Jay Z has reportedly cheated with his protegés Rita Ora and Rihanna, singer Maya and VIP hostess Casey Cohen.

When asked by hosts Roula Christie and Ryan Chase about the elevator fight and whether they knew there were cameras around, Knowles said, “All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200 percent.”

It's unlikely Beyoncé will be pleased to hear about her father’s remarks. On Sunday night, at the 2014 MTV VMAs, the 33-year-old seemingly laid divorce rumors to rest when she kissed Jay Z on stage when he presented her with the Video Vanguard award, aka the Lifetime Achievement Award. After Jay called her “the greatest living entertainer,” Beyoncé returned the compliment, saying, “My beloved, I love you.”
