Santa Clara-based semiconductor chip giant Intel said, the company will continue its work on the MeeGo software platform despite Nokia's recent announced exit.

The company is set to prepare MeeGo version 1.3 alongside producing netbooks and tablet PCs. The new MeeGo version will support smart TVs, multimedia devices and car infotainment, which will release in the fourth quarter. The company has also spoken about a version 1.4 in the second quarter of 2012.

Intel is also set to launch a solution which will pair its Atom processor with Google’s brand new Ice Cream Sandwich in the beginning of 2012 and the same with Windows 8 in the third quarter of same year, the Brothersoft News reported.
