Meghan Markle may be settling in well into the royal life and the expensive gowns, but she still looks best simply dressed.

On Sunday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot. Markle wore a pair of black skinny jeans and a white oversize shirt for the event. She accessorized with a Panama hat and dark shades, Daily Mail reported.

In addition, Markle exchanged high heels with a pair of black ballet pumps. Markle's getup is similar to the ensemble she wore when she first stepped out with Prince Harry in public at the Invictus Games in Toronto in September 2017.

According to Isabella Sullivan, a journalist for Express, Markle looked "androgynous" and could be paying tribute to Princess Diana. The late Princess of Wales would have been celebrating her 57th birthday on the same day if she had been alive.

Prince Harry and Markle also attended the same event on Saturday. During the outing, Markle was spotted with her friend, Serena Williams.

During the event, the new duchess opted to wear a cotton gingham Ashland shirt dress designed by Shoshanna Grus. Markle complemented her getup with a pair of brown strappy flat sandals from Sarah Flint and used the same Panama hat and shades.

Meanwhile, Williams recently opened up about her friendship with Markle. In a new interview with InStyle, she was asked about Prince Harry and Markle's royal wedding.

"Yeah, it was super fun. You know, I’ve known Meghan [Markle] for years, so it was good to see my friend happy," she said.

Williams also revealed that the toughest woman she knows is the Duchess of Sussex's sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. "Well, obviously Beyoncé. That goes unsaid. Rihanna goes unsaid. Kate Middleton!" the athlete said when asked to name the most badass women she knew.

According to the celebrity mom, she could not imagine having a baby, then putting on makeup right after to greet the public. The Duchess of Cambridge did it following her delivery in April. Just seven hours after giving birth to Prince Louis, Middleton stepped out looking pristine for her newborn's public debut.

According to reports, Middleton always makes speedy hospital exits to avoid causing a frenzy outside the facility, where media and photographers usually camp to get a photo of her and her baby. However, some moms slammed the duchess for giving false hope to other women because most mothers don't look as good right after giving birth.

"That's not inspiring!" Meshel Laurie said about Middleton.
