Meghan Markle's high-profile romance with Prince Harry has prompted NBC Universal to give her a new security protocol while her boyfriend is in Toronto.

Markle has been spotted out and about with Prince Harry while the latter is in Toronto for the 2017 Invictus Games. This prompted the network where she is employed to provide the "Suits" star with round-the-clock protection, Daily Mail reported. Markle's security team is hired locally, and the bill is being footed by NBC Universal, the media giant behind the program service USA Network where "Suits" airs.

The publication noted that Markle's growing profile pushed the network to offer her security protection. Markle and Prince Harry made headlines earlier this week when the pair made their first public appearance as a couple at the Invictus Games. There was apparently no specific threat, but Markle's growing public profile, the social media attacks that her boyfriend confirms and her biracial heritage sealed the network's decision to tighten her security.

Aside from the personal protection team, NBC Universal reportedly extended the security protocol to her home and the "Suits" set. In fact, new security cameras were installed at the front and back of her rented home. In addition, a team performs regular sweeps of the street. A number of neighbors also told the publication that the security measure becomes more intense when Prince Harry is staying at her home. The street is reportedly "full of police" when the duke is there.

In related news, Prince Harry recently visited Markle on the set of "Suits." The actress returned the favor by giving her beau a tour around the set. Prince Harry reportedly met her co-stars and the crew of the hit TV series.

"He was super low-key, met some crew and was so happy to watch his lady. He's incredibly supportive of her work," a source said.

Although Harry is supportive of Markle's career, many believe that the actress will leave the show if they get married. In fact, some see her potential departure happening soon. "No one gets the impression she's staying on the show much longer," an insider said. "They believe she's going to marry Harry."

Another source added that her leaving the show "boils down to security issues."
