German Chancellor Angela Merkel reiterated her stance and rejection to counting on the European Central Bank as the savior for debt-laden nations and she shunned the criticism directed to the ECB saying this is its mandate. It is pursuing this. And we all need to be very careful about criticizing the European Central Bank.

Merkel also warned Greece that the next tranche of last year's bailout will be still on hold until all the major parties in Greece provide the written consent on the new austerity measures.

In a speech to the parliament Merkel said that the Greek question hasn't been cleared up yet and that was attributed by her to the conditions needed to be in place for them to finalize the release of the tranche which is connected to further austerity.
