Mermaids

Mermaids were officially debunked when the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released a statement in early July after receiving numerous inquiries as to whether the mythical sea creatures actually shared our waters. But 3-Fins is producing mermaid fins that people can use to swim in the water and transform into real-life mermaids thanks to 3-Fins.

As much as people want to belive in mermaids, NOAA denied their existence. But after the Discovery Channel re-aired Animal Planet's Mermaids: The Body Found on Sunday, some began to question whether or not the sea creatures existed, again.

Still, the NOAA still stands by their original statement, no matter how many people may wish that mermaids actually swim the seas.

For those who aren't familiar with the mockumentary, DbTechno.com described Mermaids: The Body Found as a science fiction based on some real events and scientific theory, and promises real-life events and phenomena with the story of two scientists who testify they found the remains of a never-before-identified sea creature.

The film paints a wildly convincing picture of the existence of mermaids, what they may look like, and why they've stayed hidden ... until now, the Discovery Channel said.

Mermaids -- those half-human, half-fish sirens of the sea -- are legendary sea creatures, NOAA said in an online statement, but the Daily Telegraph noted that they did not give definite proof that denied the existence of the sea creautres.

The NOAA released this statement regarding the existence of mermaids:

The belief in mermaids may have arisen at the very dawn of our species. Magical female figures first appear in cave paintings in the late Paleolithic (Stone Age) period some 30,000 years ago, when modern humans gained dominion over the land and, presumably, began to sail the seas. Half-human creatures, called chimeras, also abound in mythology - in addition to mermaids, there were wise centaurs, wild satyrs, and frightful minotaurs, to name but a few.

But are mermaids real? No evidence of aquatic humanoids has ever been found. Why, then, do they occupy the collective unconscious of nearly all seafaring peoples? That's a question best left to historians, philosophers, and anthropologists.

But when it comes down to it, people are still going to believe what they want.

For instance, @DeionDashing tweeted, Mermaids exist, and @carolinecpeters wrote, the government is trying to hide the fact that there are mermaids. there was a mermaid body found, even after the NOAA denied it.
