Japan-based game developer Konami has announced that it will be releasing the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on the PlayStation Vita this summer, it has been reported.

The developers have also revealed that the collection will include PS Vita versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

However, it is to be noted that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be absent from the collection and will only be included in the North American version of the collection. Konami said that only the second and the third titles in the Metal Gear Solid series will make it to the PS Vita.

Konami's GM Martin Shneider is confident that the new collector's edition for the PS Vita will please the current crop of gamers who have followed the game for years. New innovations have been made by the Kojima Productions that will offer a rich experience in the new format.

Previously, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D made its appearance on Nintendo 3DS, according to a report.
