The hijack to Mexico's Aeromexico flight 576 from Cancun to Mexico City concluded after police captured at least six suspects and regained control of the airplane, Mexican media reported Wednesday.

Federal police handcuffed the suspects after accessing the aircraft through the rear entrance, put them into security vehicles and transported them to a facility of the Federal Police, Mexican media reported.

The airplane carried about 104 passengers, according to Mexican media but none were harmed.

A passenger described he only noticed one of the suspects, an overweight man between the age of 45 to 50, standing up in the midst of turbulence to take out a suitcase from one of the cabinets.

The suspects threatened to blow up the airplane if they were not able to speak to Mexican President Felipe Calderon. It remains unknown how many hijackers held the airplane.
