Just days after pictures of pop star Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris, showing off a new haircut while puffing on a cigarette, were published, the 17-year-old shared a cryptic post on Instagram. Jackson was seen lighting up the cigarette while out with a friend in Los Angeles — the teen is not legally allowed to buy tobacco in the U.S. until she turns 18.

A report by The Sun, which posted the photos of Jackson first tucking the cigarette behind her ear and later smoking it, said that the habit was “not cool.” She had also revealed a month ago, on her Instagram page, that she feels that she is being “ripped to shreds daily” over her actions and also confessed to attending AA meetings, the Daily Mail reported. Before that, she had said that she would not fall prey to the same pressures that her father faced.

She had also said that the negativity on social was too much for her to handle. “Like when I was 14 and deleting every single comment by hand because people were fighting too much and sending to so much hate to the point where I was suicidal? It’s always been like this. Just because I’m now starting to say something about it,” she said, according to Daily mail.

The latest Instagram post suggests that Jackson is introspecting. Several fans also posted encouraging messages to the post.

A report in January said that Jackson, who is set to inherit her father’s property when she turns 18, has been inconsolable after her breakup with Chester Castellaw, whom she dated for a year. The report added that she was on a “downward spiral” and that her family members were concerned about her.

“There are fears that Paris is in a dangerous downward spiral,” a source reportedly told Radar Online, adding: “Her family described her as 'inconsolable' after her breakup with Chester, and now she has completely shut everyone out.

“She also thought that some of her old friends took his side after the breakup and no longer trusts them,” the source continued, adding: “Prince (Jackson, her brother) is the only one Paris has not shut out.”
