Michael Jackson's golden casket will be transported to his public memorial service held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Mr. Jackson's remains will be going to the Staples Center, we're not giving any details, Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton said this morning.

He also said that law enforcement has a plan in place in case the Jackson family decides to have Michael's casket at the memorial service; though he says no official confirmation has been made at this time.

Police have blocked off roads and warned those without tickets to stay away because they would not be able to get close to the downtown venue.

Michael Jackson's private memorial will be held this morning at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills.

Numerous vehicles under California Highway Patrol escort headed out from the parents' home shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday and reached Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood Hills about 15 minutes later. Sections of freeways have been shut down during the height of Los Angeles' morning rush hour to allow the motorcade to pass, the report said.
