Michael Jordan and his wife Yvette Prieto welcomed identical twin daughters on Sunday in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Estee Portnoy, Jordan’s spokesperson, reportedly revealed the news to the media on Tuesday night.

“Michael and Yvette Jordan are thrilled to announce that their identical daughters, Victoria and Ysabel, were born Sunday, February 9, 2014 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Yvette and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival,” Portnoy reportedly said.

According to reports, the couple confirmed in late November that they were planning to expand their family. The twins are the first children for Prieto, while Jordan has three children – two sons, Jeffrey Jordan, 25, and Marcus Jordan, 23, and a daughter, Jasmine, 21, -- with ex-wife Juanita Vanoy. They divorced in 2006, after a 17-year marriage.

The former NBA star tied the knot with Prieto last April in Palm Beach, Fla., after dating the Cuban-American model for five years. The wedding ceremony took place at Episcopal Church of Bethesda-By-The-Sea, which was attended by 300 guests including Usher, Tiger Woods, Robin Thicke and Spike Lee. The reception was held at a private golf club designed by Jack Nicklaus, in Jupiter, Fla.

Jordan, a five-time MVP who won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, is the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, who currently are the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference and are poised to make it to the postseason for the very first time.
