Michael Phelps did a lot of simple things on Father’s Day, but they were made more meaningful by the fact that he did them with his son Boomer. The famous athlete even posted some photos of his bonding moments with the toddler.

On Sunday, Phelps took to his Instagram account to share a heartwarming photo of him and his son lying on the couch while watching the U.S. Open. In the snap, Phelps can be seen paying close attention to the event, which his good pals Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth are participating in. On the other hand, Boomer appears to be enjoying the broadcast as well as proven by the happy smile on his face.

In a follow-up, the 31-year-old competitive swimmer posted a picture of him embracing his son while sitting inside the teepee his mother Deborah Phelps may have gifted to the latter. The father-and-son duo are noticeably looking at the camera in this frame, and fans couldn’t help but shower them with compliments. “Good times that will last a long long time. Good dad,” a fan wrote. “You look so happy in this one. Happy Father’s Day to you,” another commented.

The bonding between the two did not end there. Little Boomer’s own Instagram account was also updated with photos of what the two did on the special day. In one snap, Phelps is shirtless while holding his semi-naked mini-me close to his chest.

In another picture, Boomer’s right hand can be seen resting on top of his dad’s hand when the latter was switching off the faucet in their bathroom. The witty caption for the post reads: “giving dad a hand this #FathersDay and helping him save water with #Colgate by turning off the faucet. He’s lucky to have me around! #EveryDropCounts #ad.”

Finally, Phelps and his tyke also had a blast playing video games on Sunday. The last photo uploaded on Boomer’s Instagram shows the two sitting on their couch while holding on to controllers. The caption was written in Boomer’s perspective, saying, “I have the BEST dad ever!! I Love being able to sit and hang with him!! Even if it’s when I’m beating him in some games!! #lookadadiwin #happyfathersday.”

Boomer is the 23-time Olympic gold medalist’s son with wife Nicole Johnson, whom he married in June 2016 after seeing each other for eight years, according to Us Weekly.
