Michael Phelps has reportedly split with his longtime girlfriend Nicole Johnson. According to reports, the couple split a few weeks ago right before the holiday season.

According to New York Post, the 26-year-old Olympic champion and the former Miss California had been dating on and off for several years.

Phelps reportedly told his friends that he is single and recently partied with a bunch of his friends at Chelsea Hotspot Avenue this New Year's Eve. Meanwhile, according to her Twitter feed, Johnson spent the night in LA with friends.

Phelps has won 16 Olympic medals, including six gold and two bronze at Athens in 2004, and eight gold at Beijing in 2008. He also won the World Swimmer of the Year Award six times and American Swimmer of the Year Award eight times.
