U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama has lately been in spotlight for her fashion stance thanks to the recent visit of British Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha.

While Michelle Obama's dressing styles complemented those of Samantha Cameron, she wore some of her best designer creations during the visit of the British dignitaries, who end their three-day U.S. trip by visiting Ground Zero Thursday.

From an off-the-shoulder deep blue Marchesa gown by Georgina Chapman to white dresses from American designer Zac Posen's spring/summer 2012 collection, the U.S. first lady perfectly blended elegance in a formal setup during their visit.

Michelle Obama's fashion fervor came out well in a bright yellow L'Wren Scott cashmere cardigan and ruffled shirt, which she wore over a pair of wide-legged trousers during an Olympics themed event at American University in Washington Tuesday to celebrate the 2012 London Olympics and her Let's Move initiative.

She was dubbed as one of the top fashionistas of 2011 and seems to have continued to maintain her fashion icon image from the very beginning of this year as well.

So far in 2012, her choice of dresses has varied from funky, fluorescent to sophisticated, even as she has made it trendy with stripes and large prints.
