Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s New CEO
Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s New CEO Microsoft

Microsoft officially has a new CEO - Satya Nadella. Nadella is the third CEO of the company, succeeding Steve Ballmer. Nadella is taking over immediately, so Ballmer is retiring early. Who is Nadella? He’s forty six, born in India, and has been employed by the company for the past twenty two years.

He doesn’t have experience as a CEO, but he’s donning the helm of one of the most powerful tech companies in the world. But Nadella is something of a cloud computing expert - before the Microsoft board of directors appointed him to lead the company, Nadella was the executive vice president of the “Cloud and Enterprise” division of the company.

That makes him an essential part of SkyDrive - Microsoft’s cloud storage system. Considering that cloud storage is quickly becoming the preferred method of file storage and transferring, selecting a cloud specialist may be what Microsoft needs to retain its position at the forefront of the IT world.
