GM's Chevy Volt gets 230 mpg

General Motors Chief Executive Officer Fritz Henderson announced today that the Chevrolet Volt extended range electric car has been given an official EPA rating of more than 230 Miles Per Gallon in city driving becoming the first vehicle to obtain triple digit mpg rating.

Clean Energy posts larger Q2 loss

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. a provider of natural gas, reported a larger than expected loss of $6.4 million or 13 cents a share, compared with a loss of $3.2 million or 7 cents a share in the same quarter a year ago. The Economic crisis reduced demand for oil and natural gas while a decline in commodity prices hurt the company's revenue.

Alaska Legislture overrides Palin's veto on energy efficiency funds

The legislature of Alaska ovverrode Former Governor Sarah Palin's veto of $28 million from stimulus money for energy efficiency that she had rejected in financing citing concerns that the funding would force Alaska to enact tighter codes for buildings. The state will take the federal money after the override passed with 45 to 14 votes.
