After pushing the release date back to September, Deep Silver and Comcept have announced new details on the PlayStation 4 version of the highly anticipated “Mighty No 9.” Not only will the game come packed with some DLC and some neat extras, but the PlayStation 4 version of the game will also support cross-buy compatibility with other PlayStation platforms such as the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3.

These extras were announced on the PlayStation Blog and will be part of the retail version at no extra charge. The “Ray” DLC will come with the retail version, which adds new female character Ray to the mix and an extra level where a boss fight with Ray will take place. Other extras include a poster of the game and an art booklet.

PlayStation users will be happy to know that the PlayStation 4 version not only supports cross-buy functionality with the other Sony platforms, but both the digital version and the retail version will have that ability, as stated by IGN. So it doesn’t matter if a customer wants to purchase the title in a retail store or simply buy it on the PlayStation Network, they will essentially be buying three versions of the game.

Other exciting “Mighty No. 9” details include a “Retro Hero Mode” that is only available if the game is pre-ordered. The special mode allows players to use a retro-inspired version of the lead character Beck, who looks like he was made out of 16-bit graphics. This version of the character will come with classic “pew pew” sound effects and will have direct access to an insta-death mode for hardcore fans, as one hit kills Beck.

Lastly comes an extremely limited Collector’s Edition of the game, which will come with all the cool extras in the PS4 version, as well as a 6.5 figurine of “Mighty No. 9” protagonist Beck. Fans will have to pre-order this right away because of how limited it is. And it will cost $59.99, which is the standard price for a regular PlayStation 4 game.

“Mighty No. 9” will be released on September 15 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and the PC. Fans who’ve been waiting for a new “Mega Man” game may be in for something special.
