The mother of Arnold Schwarzenegger's son born out of wedlock has been revealed as multiple sources are now confirming her identity and more details are emerging about her son.

Mildred Patricia Baena, 50, is the mother of a 13 year old boy, according to media reports. The child was born on October 2, 1997 in Burbank, California. That son is nearly the same age as the youngest son Schwarzenegger had with wife Maria Shriver - the two children were born less than a week apart.

Baena had worked at the Schwarzenegger family house in Southern California for 20 years before she ended her work there this past January.

Meanwhile the Schwarzenegger family has already started to speak out on the revelation.

Two of the Schwarzenegger-Shriver children have reacted with twitter messages.

Katherine Eunice, 21 wrote: This is definitely not easy but I appreciate your love and support as I begin to heal and move forward in life. I will always love my family!

Patrick Arnold, 17, wrote: I love my family till death do us apart. Some days you feel like s*** some days you want to quit and just be normal for a bit.

Maria Shriver told People.com in a prepared statement: This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal.

The photos of the newly revealed son, which are available on a MySpace account for Baena, have been blurred.

Arnold Schwarzenegger released the following statement:

After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.
