Two of pop music's biggest stars just might be combining musical forces -- that is if Miley Cyrus has her way.

In a Twitter exchange with a fan on Tuesday, Cyrus hinted that she would be open to joining her fellow Disney alum Demi Lovato in the studio.

"Miley spoke to a Spanish Journalist and he asked her if she wants a duet with Demi Miley replied by 'Hopefully, she's my colleague!'" wrote @Miley UpdateEU.

After more Cyrus fans expressed their excitement in a collaboration between the two artists, Miley decided to reply to the message.

"@MileyUpdateEU my exact words were 'that would be dope. she's the homie'" wrote Cyrus.

Cyrus and Lovato were very close during their time at Disney and were seen spending time together on several occasions.

Lovato recently shared that following her time in rehab in 2010, Cyrus and a few other stars continued to offer her support.

“You know, people in my life -- like Selena and Nick and Miley, even -- they’ve all been there for me during really hard times,” she told The Huffington Post.

“I like to surround myself with people who understand where I am in my life and that have my best interests at heart," she continued.

And with all the positive energy surrounding the two, a collaboration would be a pretty memorable way to honor their friendship. And with Cyrus's newfound love for twerking, it might make for a fairly interesting video as well.

Cyrus' single "We Can't Stop" currently sits at the No. 3 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Lovato is preparing to release a video for her new single "Made in the USA."
