For the first time since calling off her engagement to actor Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus spoke about the split on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Friday, revealing that post-breakup she is “the happiest she’s ever been.”

Less than one month after the former Disney star ended her engagement to Hemsworth, she revealed that she is already settling into the single life and is in a good place. “I keep saying I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and that’s not even a dig because I really am genuinely happy,” said Cyrus, who confirmed she no longer speaks to “The Hunger Games” actor, after three years of dating. “I haven’t really gotten to see anyone right now. I’ve been so crazy busy. I’ve just been letting that chapter kind of close and just looking forward to that new one,” she said.

Despite multiple reports that the couple had a tumultuous split and claims of cheating (Hemsworth with “Mad Men” actress January Jones and Cyrus with her “Bangerz” producer Mike WiLL Made It), Cyrus said the breakup isn’t as dramatic as the public perceives it to be. “It’s not really as awkward because I’m living it,” she said. “I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do. I have so much to be thankful for that my energy hasn’t really been focused on that.”

While the former “Hannah Montana” star did confirm that her latest album gives fans an inside look at her relationship and subsequent breakup with Hemsworth, she said she wasn’t aware the music told the story of her relationship until the release of the album. “I didn’t even know as much until I really listen to it now, until I have the physical copy and put it in my car. I think I knew more intuitively where my life is going then I actually thought I did at the time. … It’s a real story,” said Cyrus.

Despite rumors she had already moved on with music producer and rapper Mike WiLL, Cyrus confirmed she is currently single and loving it. “I think it takes separating yourself from someone else to really be happy with who you are,” said Cyrus. “I’ve never just been alone and I’m obsessed with being alone and hearing my thoughts. … I’m trying to take this alone time,” she said.
