In a photo snapped by Getty Images at the "Resident Evil: Retribution" premiere, Jovovich is seen laughing and holding a seemingly empty bucket of popcorn. Next to her is a grey-skinned zombie in nothing but underwear. Bits of popcorn can be seen speckled across the zombie, presumably from Jovovich's bucket.
"This looks like the most fun anyone has had at a premiere in a long time," writes Katie Jones of My Daily.
Jovovich joked with the audience on stage briefly before her new "Resident Evil" film made its way to the screen for the first time. Directed by her husband Paul W.S. Anderson, "Resident Evil: Retribution" involves Jovovich's character Alice fighting in a resistance movement against Umbrella Corporation.
The release date for the movie is set for Sept. 14, and this marks the fifth film adapation of the successful video game.
A new clip from the film posted on Sunday shows Alice and Ada Wong fighting two axmen in true "Resident Evil" style. The character of Ada Wong is a survivor taken captive by Jill Valentine, a major character throughout the series. Valentine keeps Wong captive as she hunts for Alice, and actress Li Binbing landed the role after her first audition.
At the end of the last "Resident Evil" film, Alice was found by a fleet of Umbrella Corporation aircrafts led by Valentine in a tank full of survivors, including Claire and Chris.
"Resident Evil: Retribution" will explore Jovovich's character's past even further, according to the movie's official synopsis.
"The Umbrella Corporation's deadly T-Virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh-eating Undead. Meanwhile, Alice (Milla Jovovich) awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex."
Jovovich also recently revealed that her combat skills translate off the screen as well. The "Resident Evil" star said she has a talent for brandishing swords, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
"I'm a better sword fighter than anybody else I know, that's for sure," she said. "I mean, within my circle of friends. I'm a big ham, so I'll always break the sword out, have a couple of beers and start swinging it in a haphazard manner."
"Resident Evil: Retribution" hits IMAX 3D, 2D, and 3D theaters beginning Sept. 14. See the trailer below. Check out My Daily for the popcorn-slinging photo of Milla.
