Mindy Project
The good times with Mindy (Mindy Kaling) and Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) will continue when Season 4 of "The Mindy Project" moves to Hulu. Fox

Ike Barinholtz aka Morgan on “The Mindy Project” is celebrating the renewal of the series in a very interesting way. After it was announced that Hulu would pick up Season 4, the actor took to Twitter Friday to share a special “promise” to dedicated fans.

“Thanks @hulu for new #TheMindyProject episodes!” Barinholtz posted. “Now that we’re streaming I promise at some point this season you will see Morgan’s wang!”

“Mindy Project” viewers around the world are breathing a sigh of relief at that news.

Fox had canceled the comedy earlier this month after the show wrapped up its third season in March. The finale started out rough for Mindy (Mindy Kaling) and Danny (Chris Messina) after he failed to meet her parents and admitted that he didn’t want to get married. However, things turned around by the end. Season 3 concluded with Danny flying to India to meet Mindy’s parents and confessing that he’s in love with her.

The cancellation meant that viewers would never see Mindy have her baby or learn about Danny’s bold romantic move. But fans of the series held out hope thanks to a report from TV Line. A source told the site that Universal TV, the company that owns “The Mindy Project,” was working on striking a deal with streaming service Hulu for a “multi-season pickup.” The deal between the two was confirmed Friday, and “The Mindy Project” was picked up for a 26-episode fourth season.

Poor ratings for the Fox comedy was one of the reasons it was canceled by the network. The Season 3 finale pulled in 2.1 million viewers and a series low 0.8 rating in adults 18-49. However, Deadline points out that the series ranks as one of Hulu’s top shows. The online viewing boost helped Hulu and Universal TV strike the deal.

“Mindy has been a beloved member of the Hulu family, so this deal is a natural extension of our relationship,” Hulu Senior Vice President and Head of Content Craig Erwich said in a statement.
