An eight year old girl with failed kidneys astounded doctors by growing two new kidneys.

Since birth, Angel Burton had suffered from bilateral reflux, which meant the valves to her bladder didn't work properly, and urine was getting into her kidneys, causing infections.

When she was just five years old, her kidneys failed and she had her operation in 2007. Specialists then found two healthy spares had taken over the role of the old kidneys, curing of her problem.

Doctors didn't see the extra organs on X-rays because they looked like one.

Angel's mother Clair Burton called it a miracle.

Angel lives in Louth in the country's east and has fully recovered. She has a younger sister and a brother.
