Our girls are back and they’re ready to heat up the Season 4 plot of “Mistresses” with more sizzling drama.

On Tuesday night, the hit ABC series returned from its lengthy hiatus with a seriously juicy episode complete with sexy doctor appointments, legal woes and the finding of a condom in baby Lucy’s (Corrine Massiah) backpack! But if you thought episode 7 was wild, just wait until you witness the chaos of episode 8, titled “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

The upcoming installment, which will air Monday, Aug. 8, when the series returns to it’s normal schedule, will welcome a new character: April’s (Rochelle Aytes) mom Marjorie (Lynn Whitefield). According to the synopsis, April’s mama will make her way to her daughter’s house to stay the night (and share her concerns about April’s beau). But Marjorie’s trip extends when she discovers that she needs a liver transplant.

While April copes with the dwindling health of her mom, Karen (Yunjin Kim) will “make an effort to bond” with someone new in her life — her nanny Lydia (Alanna Masterson) — despite feeing “uneasy” about the new hire.

But one of the most interesting plot points revolves around our new, favorite love rectangle. In episode 8, Joss (Jes Macallan) will finally learn that Harry’s (Brett Tucker) sister Kate (Tabrett Bethell) is hooking up with her ex-fiance Scott (Justin Hartley). However, according to a promo video for the forthcoming installment, Scott isn’t as smitten with the newly single Aussie as Kate is with him.

In the trailer for episode 9, Scott shows up to Joss’ house with a confession: “I’m still in love with you,” he tells her before leaning in for a kiss. So, how does Joss react? Well, she doesn’t exactly push him away!

“Mistresses” airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
