Cleaning and maintenance company Mitie Group said on Thursday it had continued to perform in line with management expectations, with good levels of organic growth.

Mitie, which cleans hospitals, airports, bus shelters and phone booths, said the integration of Initial Security Limited, which it bought from Rentokil in March, was progressing well.

The group, which has 39,000 staff, said it remained on target to achieve the anticipated operational and financial benefits of the acquisition, which will be significant.

The group, which installed emergency lighting and fire alarms on the set of BBC's long running soap opera EastEnders, posted a 5.4 percent rise in annual pretax profit in May to 50.5 million pounds.

Shares in Mitie, which have underperformed the UK support services sector by 2 percent over the last 12 months, were flat at 200 1/4 pence by 07:44 GMT (8:44 a.m. British time), valuing the group at around 623 million pounds.

The group is expected to post interim results on November 27.
