Anna Faris and Allison Janney will be back later this month on their hilarious sitcom, “Mom.” The Chuck Lorre-created CBS comedy follows recovering alcoholic, single mother Christy (Anna Faris), as she moves back in with her own mother (Allison Janney), who is also a recovering alcoholic. After a successful premiere season the show will be returning with new episodes when the Season 2 premiere airs Sept. 29.

CBS has released some details about what will be making fans laugh in the premiere episode. The synopsis for episdoe 1, titled "Hepatitis and Lemon Zest," reveals that Bonnie (Janney) will be furious with Christy when poor financial decisions threaten the family’s current living situation. Christy will also take in a newly recovering alcoholic, named Jill, and help her stay sober. Jill will be played by former “My Name is Earl” star Jaime Pressly.

Fans will remember that the Season 1 finale of “Mom” featured Bonnie kissing Christy’s father, Alvin (Kevin Pollak), while he was in the hospital, and Violet (Sadie Calvano), Christy’s daughter, finally giving her baby up for adoption. The show’s first season was very successful, averaging over 8 million viewers per episode as one of the highest rated new comedies. Allison Janney also won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for "Mom" at the 2014 Emmy Awards. The show’s popularity and accolades earned the show a renewal from CBS in a brutal television season for new series.

“Mom” returns with it’s premiere episode, “Hepatitis and Lemon Zest,” hoping to build on its Season 1 success. The show benefits from it’s A-list leads, as well as veteran comedy showrunner Chuck Lorre (“Two and a Half Men”). Season 2 of “Mom” premieres Monday, Sept. 29 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
