Fans of video game soundtracks will be pleased to know that the award-winning “The Last of Us” will have its soundtrack re-released in a gorgeous four-disk vinyl record, courtesy of Mondo Music. This “Last of Us” soundtrack will not only feature all the music from the original game but will also feature the score from the “Left Behind” expansion that was released last year.

The soundtrack of “The Last of Us,” composed by Gustavo Santaolalla of Argentina, is just one of the many aspects of the Naughty Dog game that was praised by fans and critics. Players appreciated the haunting score and the occasional inspiring tune that would play when the game slowed down, which let them appreciate some of the game’s beauty before shooting another zombie.

Instead of using promotional art from the game or any cover art, The “Last of Us” vinyl record will feature new art from Olly Moss and Jay Shaw, according to Polygon. The art has been praised for being gorgeous and should please those who plan on purchasing the four-disk vinyl set from Mondo.

Mondo Music says this particular vinyl is the first that was based on a video game’s soundtrack. Time will tell if another game gets a noteworthy enough soundtrack to also get a limited vinyl release, but for now it seems like video games are finally getting some music credibility.

Those interested in this “Last of Us” vinyl set better pre-order it soon, because IGN stated that quantities will be very limited, and Mondo hasn’t given a set start time for its sale. “The Last of Us” vinyl set will be available for $75 from Mondo Music. Though an exact release date hasn’t been revealed, it should be available sometime this week. “The Last of Us” and “The Last of Us: Remastered” are exclusively available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
