The fresh Italian Prime Minister, Mario Monti is to meet the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy and the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel in Strasbourg, France today, in a discussion over the European Central Bank's role in tackling the debt crisis and also over the euro-area region economic policies.

This is the first time for Monti to meet the German Chancellor, where rising fears and debt woes led the leaders to meet and discuss critical issues related to the euro zone and the debt crisis facing Europe, as Italy handles the largest amount of debt and Germany is under threats now after the downbeat German bond auction that took place yesterday.

The French President called on the European Central Bank to intervene more in the market, which is opposed very by Germany.
