Wes Anderson has come back in style with the trailer for his latest movie, Moonrise Kingdom, whetting the appetite of his fans with an all-star cast, stylistic cinematography and provocative music.

Set in the 60's, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of a young boy and girl who fall for each other and then decide to run away, wreaking havoc among their adult guardians, who desperately scrabble to find them. Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Jason Schwartzman, Edward Norton and Tilda are among the all-star cast.

It seems Anderson maintains his quirky style and characters in this fun, flourishing film. Some directors spawn imitators. Others, it transpires, prompt spoofs. For better or worse, Anderson's work is now so instantly recognizable that its hallmarks can be easily distilled and converted into a simple comedy formula. Or, as he puts it himself: I have my own personality and some people are going to like that and others are not. I think some people find it very annoying when they feel that a film-maker's signature is too visible. But without ever quite making that choice, that tends to be the way I make 'em. Commenting on the new trailer, Entertainment Weekly says the film, co-written by Roman Coppala, looks like an animated film that uses live action. The film is will be released in May.
