The total jobs Morgan Stanley cut this week could get close to 2,000 jobs. A report said Morgan cut 1,500 jobs this week, but few affected employees have not been notified yet, media reports said on Friday.

Most of the lost jobs are in the United States and Europe, Reuters noted quoting a person familiar with the matter. It said the employers were across Morgan investment banking, trading and asset management business.

A different report said today that the financial firm started to cut at least 350 jobs in London, the Daily Telegraph said without stating the origin of the information.

Morgan Stanley shares lost 1.05 percent to $47.21 by Friday's closing trading in the New York stock Exchange.
