March RBOB prices traded higher during the overnight and initial morning hours. These early gains came in the wake of reports of two major refineries shutting down, one in the Northeast and one in Louisiana. The reduced supply flows in those regions was partially offset by a major BP refinery in Indiana coming back online. The latest data from the US Department of Energy pegged weekly gasoline prices at their highest level since mid-November, up $0.043 on the week to $3.48 per gallon.
