March heating oil traded lower during the initial morning hours, as it seemed to encounter downside pressure from weakness in crude oil. March heating oil broke through the $2.75 mark yesterday as it appeared to benefit from the latest estimates from the National Weather Service that estimated this week's US heating oil demand to average 13.1% above normal levels. Some analysts also suggested that the boost in demand also seemed to be a factor behind recent estimates for another weekly draw in distillate inventories this week, in the range of 1.0 million barrels.
