October heating oil prices came under pressure during the overnight and early morning hours. It seemed that a shift in US weather forecast for slightly warmer Northeastern temperatures later this week might have altered the demand outlook lower. The Commitments of Traders Futures and Options report as of September 13th for heating oil showed non-commercial traders were net long 14,534 contracts, a decrease of 8,004. Non-commercial and nonreportable traders combined held a net long position of 27,891 contracts, a decrease of 10,338 for the week.
