April heating oil prices experienced a flat trade overnight and appeared to lag behind its peers in the crude oil complex. Yesterday's EIA report showed a decline in distillate stocks last week of 2.069 million barrels. This leaves current supplies 17.746 million barrels below last year but 2.420 million above the five year average. Distillate imports came in at 217,000 barrels per day compared to 122,000 barrels the previous week. Average total distillate demand for the past four weeks was down 5.12% compared to last year. Meanwhile, the weekly EIA report showed a build in heating oil stocks of 876,000 barrels. EIA heating oil stocks are 6.747 million barrels below last year and 7.122 million below the five year average.
