January natural gas prices took on a higher track during the initial morning hours and overcame November 14th gap resistance in the process. Perhaps some of the early gains came from reports out of China that projected a larger portion of their natural gas consumption coming from imports. While the US is not currently a big exporter of natural gas, it is a trend that is beginning to garner more attention. The latest estimates from the National Weather Service pegged heat-related demand for natural gas this week to run about 14.0% below normal.
