March natural gas prices traded higher overnight and early this morning and registered a new high in the process. It is possible that some of the strength came in the wake of President Obama's mention of support toward natural gas in last night's State of the Union address. However, there were no new details given, and some say that the administration's polices could be conflicting. Meanwhile, the 6 to 10 day weather maps show an area of above normal temperatures covering most of the US. This is seen as a force limiting heat-related demand for natural gas and is a negative for prices.
