September natural gas prices garnered a lift from signs of a pickup in industrial demand in Monday's cash market trade. However, some traders have indicated that enatural gas probably needs to see a pickup in weather-related demand to engineer a run back above $4.10. The 6 to 10 day weather maps, from August 14th to August 18th, show larger coverage of below normal temperatures in the upper northeast and heat in the south moving west. This is not likely to contribute too much of a boost in air conditioning demand for natural gas. Storm activity in the Atlantic has turned quiet for the time being and poses little threat to US natural gas operations.
