October natural gas prices opened higher Monday evening but failed an early test of yesterday's high. Some traders indicated that the overnight weakness might have been the result of profit-taking after yesterday's positive outside day reversal. In the meantime, US weather conditions appear to be having less impact on natural gas prices during the transition period from summer to fall. This leaves the market focused on US nuclear capacity for fresh demand signals.
