Natural gas prices were unable to hold onto early strength this week, with many traders feeling that a negative overall market environment is weighing on prices. It is possible that the natural gas market found early support off news that US temperatures were running well below normal over the weekend, as that could suggest an early start to the US heating season. Another element that might have provided support to natural gas prices early this morning is news that Indian natural gas production during the month of August was down by more than 13% versus the same period last year.
