Mortgage loan application volume is on the rise, with the four week moving average of the industry’s index rising 4.3 percent, the Mortgage Bankers Association said on Wednesday.

The Market Composite Index was up 12.8 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis for the week ending September 18.

The 4-week moving average has been generally positive since mid July, after seeing a downward trend starting in April.
