U.S. Postal Service

As the July 4 weekend approaches, the U.S. Postal service is informing its customers that most post offices will close at 12 noon on Friday, July 3, with no regular service on Saturday.

Despite the early closings on July 3, regular mail delivery services will be available Friday, the Postal Service said in an announcement on its web site.

Customers who need retail or collection services after 12:00 noon on July 3 should contact their local Postmaster for information on Post Office locations that will maintain normal retail and lobby collection hours, the Postal Service said.

There will be no regular mail delivery on July 4. Only Sunday and Holiday Premium Express mail will be delivered.

The Service said regular mail delivery, retail services and collections will resume on Monday, July 6.

FedEx

Some FedEx services will be available on July 3, including FeEx Express service and FedEx Home Delivery, according to the company's 2009 Holiday Schedule. FedEx Ground service will be closed. On July 4, all services except FedEx Custom Critical service will be closed.
