This Mother's Day weekend in New York Botanical Garden is extra gorgeous with the rich collection of the world's azaleas, nearly 3,000 of them.

The new Azalea Garden was opened on May 7, the day before 2011's Mother's Day.

On Saturday and Sunday, New York Botanical Garden hosts Opening Weekend Celebration for families to enjoy picnics, games and much more.

The Azalea Garden today is the fruit of expansion from the Botanical Garden's historic Azalea Way, a collection since the 1930s. The Garden is now enriched with more than 70,000 plants throughout the garden enhansing the beauty of azaleas.
