If rumors are to be believed, the countdown for the much-anticipated Motorola Droid RAZR (previously known as Motorola Droid HD) has already started and the smartphone will appear on Tuesday.

The official Motorola Web site page has put up a timer that is ticking down with less than 36 hours left with both the page and the video saying “Faster, Thinner, Smarter, and Stronger.”

The invitation that has been sent out says “Join us to celebrate the next big innovation from Motorola Mobility,” which is Oct. 18 at noon, according to pocketnow.com.

Little is known about the device as yet,, and nothing can be said for certain. It is rumored to be a 4.5 or 4.3-inch smartphone that will run on Android 2.3 or Gingerbread.

The Droid RAZR is expected to feature an 8 MP, 3,264-by-2,448 pixel autofocus, LED flash camera and powered by a 1 or 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, TI OMAP4430 chipset. NFC may or may not be available.
