The upcoming film “Movie 43” is creating buzz online, and it’s all with good cause. There has been talk about the movie enormous cast, but the shock comedy also boasts a creative format, as well as a long list of directors.

Usually the amount of directors to a film is limited to one, sometimes two or three, but adding more people to the top position in the film’s production can make things chaotic. This is why it’s not often audiences see a film like “Movie 43” which has 11 directors.

That’s not a typo; the film set for release on Jan. 25, 2013 has 11 different names attached to the project as directors. IMDB's list of directors for the film includes Peter Farrelly (“Dumb & Dumber,” “There's Something About Mary”), Elizabeth Banks (acting: “30 Rock” as Avery Jessup, “The Hunger Games” as Effie Trinket) in her directorial debut, Steven Brill (“Drillbit Taylor,” “Heavy Weights”), James Gunn (“Slither,” “Super”), Bob Odenkirk (acting: “Breaking Bad” as Saul Goodman, “Let's Go to Prison”), Brett Ratner (“Rush Hour 3,” “Tower Heist”), Steve Carr (“Next Friday,” “Paul Blart: Mall Cop”), Rusty Cundieff (“Chappelle's Show,” “Human Giant”), James Duffy (“Robin's Big Date”), Griffin Dunne (“Practical Magic,” “The Good Wife”), Patrik Forsberg (“Bakom Snart är det lördag igen,” “Smådeckarna”).

The film will have a main narrative, but segments of the trailer posted to YouTube on Wednesday seem unrelated to one another. Directors will take on separate segments of the film, working with more than 15 writers on the varying storylines within “Movie 43”, claims Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s the brainchild of Charlie Wessler, who produced most of our movies. Never before have such huge actors pushed the envelope so much,” said Farrelly in a phone interview, reports Entertainment Weekly. “Charlie knows all these people. He went to them, huge stars, like Kate Winslet, and she said, ‘I’m shooting this movie, I’m not free for a year and a half.’

The film does boast some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, in what could be the greatest ensemble cast ever conceived. IMDB lists not only Winslet and film director Banks on the cast, but Halle Berry, Kate Bosworth, Gerard Butler, Kieran Culkin, Josh Duhamel, Anna Faris, Chris Pratt, Richard Gere, Terrence Howard, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Knoxville, Chloe Moretz, Justin Long, Leslie Bibb, Liev Schreiber, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis, and Uma Thurman among other will be appearing in the film with offensive intent.

“I spoke at Harvard last year with my brother Bobby. People always ask if we’re going to do a dramatic movie, so we said we just did, with Kate Winslet, and told them, ‘Let’s show a little clip,’” said Farrelly, according to EW. “People were so stunned. I don’t think an audience at Harvard has ever laughed that hard. There’s the fact that Kate Winslet had the balls to just go for it.”

Along with talk about “Movie 43,” Farrelly also spoke about his upcoming project, a sequel to “Dumb and Dumber.” Rumors have been circulating on the film, and there is supposedly a script in the works.

“We’re finishing the script right now, and we’re moving ahead as if it’s happening,” EW claims Farrelly said. “I’m extremely happy about it. Nothing is firm yet, but we’re extremely happy.”
