Cingular Wireless announced an exclusive partnership with social networking site Myspace.com on Monday to offer MySpace functionality to all Cingular customers via their mobile phones.

The new deal gives Cingular customers access to Fox Interactive Media's online social-networking website through an easy to use interface, tailored for cell-phones. The application gives the ability to edit MySpace profiles, view and add friends, post photos and blogs, send and receive MySpace messages.

Not only are we excited about the ability for customers to stay connected to their MySpace community while they're on the go, we think this will open up a new world of interaction and content for them to share via MySpace, said Marc Lefar, chief marketing officer at Cingular Wireless.

The deal is part of an ongoing partnership between the mobile company, and the social network.

Earlier this year the two companies created the MySpace Mobile Music studio, a program designed to empower MySpace's unsigned bands and artists to make ringtones from their original music and distribute the them to fans for purchase and download.

Customers interested in downloading the Myspace Mobile application to their phones can send a text message to 386 (FUN), with the words MYSPACE in the text body. The cost of the service is $2.99 per month plus standard data usage charges.
