In a freak incident, bride-to-be Na Cola Darcel Franklin, 31, inadvertently stabbed her fiancé twice in the heart a few hours before they were about to tie the knot, Mail Online reported.

Apparently, Na Cola Darcel Franklin stabbed her fiancé Rafael Brewster, 36, twice inadvertently in the heat of an argument they had in the early hours of August 11, police told Mail Online.

The argument and subsequent attack happened in the apartment they shared with three children in eastern Pennsylvania. It is not clear if the children belonged to Franklin or Brewster or to both. Brewster was rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital with heavy bleeding from his chest at 2 a.m. Saturday and was pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m.

Charged with criminal homicide, Franklin is being held in the Lehigh County Prison without bail.

During the hearing, unable to comprehend the murder charges she faces, Franklin pleaded to the judge, "you got to check again." Reportedly rocking back and forth, Franklin at one point allegedly cried out, "I want my family back. I want to go home."

The motive for the killing and the type of knife used have not been disclosed.
